Built just outside the city walls at the end of 1200 by the Servi di Maria, the church is nowadays a museum. Inside is the “Deposizione della Croce” (1517) by the Perugino, partly damaged due to Baroque renovation works at the beginning of the 17^th century. Despite it missing some parts, it still represents one of the most significant late era works of the artist, mostly due to the presence of cryptic characters and non-Renaissance writing styles. Along the nave are fragments of ancient frescoes which were later covered during the 17^th century, such as the “Madonna della Stella, tra i Santi Matteo e Sebastiano” by an unknown artist, hidden behind a pillar. Inside the crypt, together with a collection of altarpieces (17^thand 18^th century) from the diocese of Città della Pieve, are the etruscan findings from the tomb of San Donnino, discovered in 2015, with three funerary urns and two sarcophagi with their grave goods, which date back between the 4^thand the 3^rd century B.C.
