FISHING AND TRASIMENO LAKE MUSEUM
THE MUSEUM, WITH AN INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH, ILLUSTRATES THE NATURALISTIC AND ANTHROPIC REALITY OF THE LAKE.
The Fishing and Lake Trasimeno Museum is located in San Feliciano, right next to the northern harbor, inside what was once the Trasimeno Fishing and Aquiculture Consortium. It took more than 20 years to collect the best out of many researches made by the academics (Progetto A.L.L.I., University of Perugia), students and researchers which, thanks to the contribution of fishermen and hunters, had the possibility to investigate the culture, language, and history of the many communities that once lived on the shores of the great lake. The set-up is all about the interdisciplinary approach meant to help understanding the lacustrine reality of the Trasimeno, by using complementary methods and contents. Thanks to the kind cooperation of many scholars it was possible to observe the lake from many perspectives: geological, archeological, historical, geographical, anthropological, linguistic and environmental.
